Editor's Column - Irony in the Ho Hype
By
Anyone strolling around the Eastern side of campus last Friday was witness to a very peculiar sight. The chain-link fence and heavy equipment had been rolled back from the quad in front of Olin Hall, exposing large tracks of torn and abused soil. Colgate, not an institution to tolerate scars marring the picturesque perfection of its campus, quickly took action.
Spilling Sour O.J.

How much trouble can one guy get into? From the most riveting murder trail of the century, to his scandalous book, and now this past weekend's shenanigans in Las Vegas, O.J. Simpson can't seem to keep himself out of the spotlight. One would think that after receiving the most outrageously controversial acquittal, the ex-running back would have led a quiet life, and not given anyone more reason to believe that he was the killer of his ex-wife and her boyfriend.
Gate Tennis: Comaraderie at its Best
By
Tennis is a brutal sport. Contrary to popular belief, our sport is not just for rich preppy kids -- and a loser on the court cannot be a winner at the same time. Sure, a loser walks away having "learned what to spend time improving", but they share that with the winner, who evaluates his or her own performance and spends time working to beat you even more decisively next time.
Turning Over a New Leaf
By
I was a bit of an overachiever in high school. I wasn't invited to any parties involving alcohol. After all the tedious sessions of learning to 'just say no' throughout the school years, I never once had to make the decision. My peers, who had pigeon-holed me into their preconceived notion of who I was since the third grade, made that choice for me.

Harry Potter & the Devastating Breakup
By
He has been my best friend for about ten years. He was there all the time, whenever I needed him. He was even the first boy I ever fell in love with. But now he is gone. The fact that this boy is a fictional character is only minor consolation. He was first introduced to me as the boy who lived.

Minus the City - Great Expectations
By
Expectations. As a kid, your parents expect certain things from you. Get good grades, make friends, and stay firm to the belief that the opposite sex is infested with the intangible monsters we all know as "cooties." In middle and high school, there's the expectation of a first boyfriend, first kiss, and along with those inevitably awkward events comes the expectation that you will pretend as if the sloppy incident in which you both tilted your head the same way, got your lip stuck on his braces, and didn't know where to put your hands was the best thirty seconds of your life so far.
In a Grain of Sand - Adding Aesthetic to "Airport"
By
"All passengers, please look to the end of the terminal for our latest exhibition on French Impressionists." Until I could imagine announcements like this taking place over the loudspeaker, I didn't find the airport to be a particularly friendly place. The loud phones start giving you a headache after an hour or two, and, even with three hours until my next flight, I feel the frenzy as everyone around me rushes to their gate to catch a flight.
