Playoffs Set to Begin in Intramural Football

Despite a lack of cooperation from the weather on Monday, the Intramural Flag Football regular season came to a chaotic close this past week. Many of teams played as well as they could to secure a spot in next week's playoffs.
The league that suffered the most from Monday's rainout was League A. Most games scheduled for that day were cancelled because of the time constraints involved in field time and game slots. The one game critical to the playoffs, Cobra Chi A versus Theta Chi, will be made up this afternoon with the loser being knocked out of the playoff race.
On Tuesday, Phi Kappa Tau finished a perfect regular season through a nail-biting 17-16 defeat over Delta Upsilon. With the win, Phi Tau secured the top seed in the Division I Tournament, which is set to begin on Monday. Additionally, Beta Theta Pi knocked off the Brothers by a 28-20 margin to secure second place in the league.
The final standings in League A consist of Phi Tau at 4-0, Beta at 3-1, DU at 2-2, and the Brothers at 0-4, with Cobra Chi A and Theta Chi, each 1-2 as of Thursday, to be determined.
League B's season also ended this week with a number of heartbreaking losses. Two games on Tuesday were determined by two-point conversions. The Donkey Ranch took over first place in League B due to a failed late-game conversion attempt by Phi Delta Theta, which resulted in a 42-41 score. Simultaneously, across Whitnall Field, the Yo Mets successfully mounted a fifteen-point second half comeback, highlighted by a last-minute two-point conversion that gave them their first victory of the season over the Diabeatings by a 35-34 margin.
The Diabeatings were knocked out of playoff contention on Wednesday, losing short-handedly to Phi Delt 37-28. The Yo Mets continued their late-season success by defeating the ANL Round R's 27-14.
