The SGA has been extremely busy during the past week with Class Council Elections and Governance Board Elections. Class Council elections will take place next week and it is very important that each of you vote. These candidates will be working every day to provide you with tailgates, study breaks, and other amazing events.
Governance Board Petitions are available in the SGA office and I encourage all of you to pick one up and get involved. It is a unique and rewarding experience that will have you involved in the inner workings of Colgate. The issues you deal with affect the lives of students every day.
Next week is the SGA Greek Forum: The Future of Greek Life at Colgate University. The panelists include President Rebecca Chopp, Dean Adam Weinberg, Dean Jennifer Adams, Kelly Opipari, Senior Sean Meehan and an alumnus yet to be named. This is an opportunity for all Greek and non Greek students to come together and ask questions about what the future holds for our Colgate's Greek system. This is not a debate or a lecture, but more of a question and answer session for all of you to inquire about the future of the Greek system. The decisions made will impact every student and will play an integral role in shaping the future of Colgate. The event will take place in the Hall of Presidents at 7:30p.m. on Wednesday, Arpil 20th.
I also want to say that I was very impressed with the Colgate F.A.C.T. rally that happened this past Tuesday. It was nice to see so many students take time out of their busy schedules to gather and listen to all the wonderful speakers. The rally was very well organized and brought up a lot of important questions.
I would also like to thank all of you for making Spring Party Weekend so successful. It was truly an amazing event and it brought the Colgate community together in so many new and unique ways. I would like to thank all those who were involved in the planning and execution of the event.
