I want to congratulate the Constitutional Revision Committee (CRC) on the passing of a new Student Government Association (SGA) Constitution. As this document has been in the works for close to two years, its passing signifies a major milestone for SGA. In particular, I would like to recognize Kevin McAvey '05, Justin Mcleod '06, Brandon Greene '07, Dan Prial '07, Rob Sobelman '08, Malik Wright '08, David Kusnetz '09, Grafton Conner '09, Paige Carlos '09, and Matt Muskin '10 for their unyielding effort and countless hours of work in putting this document together.

As was its intent, I believe this new constitution will infuse new enthusiasm and efficiency into SGA. (See News article on page A-2). It is perhaps the new class-year representation system that is the greatest asset of the document - creating a system that will undoubtedly lead to more dedicated student representatives. Additionally, the new structure of student senate creates many more opportunities for leadership within the organization.

I would like to remind the entire student body that you are all members of the SGA and will hopefully take this as an opportunity to become involved, whether it be by running for senate, applying for a position on a governance board or just being aware of the issues that are under discussion. After all, SGA is there for you.

To obtain a copy of the new constitution, which will go into effect on May 4, please contact the SGA Parliamentarian Brandon Greene at bhgreene@mail.colgate.edu.

On a final note, whether you were in Acapulco, Aspen, Miami, or just the warm comforts of home, I hope you enjoyed spring break.
