On behalf of the Student Government Association (SGA), welcome to Colgate! We remember being a little overwhelmed by the amount of activity on campus during the beginning of our first year. A fun and easy way to get a feel for Colgate is to make the most of Welcome Back Week, a Colgate tradition brought to you by the Colgate Activities Board (CAB) and SGA. It begins on Tuesday, August 28th, 2007 with an appearance by author and media personality Ben Stein and it draws to a close on Wednesday, September 5th, 2007 with the Student Activities Fair. Among many other exciting events, the week also includes a moonbounce on Whitnall Field and great (and free!) food throughout.
Colgate traditions such as Welcome Back Week are planned by students that have the passion and vision to shape the Colgate experience. We could not be more excited to offer you the opportunity to run for Student Senate. The Student Senators serve as the voice of the student body to Colgate's Administration and drive policy that has a real impact on our lives.
On your behalf, we are looking forward to advocating for an increase in student e-mail storage, the building of an additional fitness center up the Hill, more environmental consciousness and ensuring your satisfaction with food service. We want your perspective and involvement as incoming students. Find us on campus or send us an email at rbsobelman@colgate.edu or jdorland@colgate.edu!
